Do you have the Q-factor?

Progress and renewal is Q-dance's most prominent aim; renewal in event productions, but especially in music. For this reason Q-dance is searching for talents who can ensure this within the dance-scene.

To reach this, Q-dance has set up a talent project under the name `Q-factor'. Q-factor gives talented DJ's, producers, MCs, and dancers a chance to share their new sound, style or act with the crowd. The talent project for DJ's started in January. The Talents are selected and assessed by a professional jury existing of the music and line-up managers of Q-dance, DJ's, producers and label owners.

In February, March and April, the DJ's that play Hardstyle, Jump, Oldschool or Hardcore, Darkcore and Industrial have proven their skills to the jury and audience. Now its time for the DJ's that play Trance, Hardtrance, Hardhouse and Progressive. And last, the DJ's that play Techno, Electro, Minimal and Schranz will be given a chance to perform before the jury and the Dutch audience.

If you're a talented DJ, and you play Techno, Electro, Minimal or Schranz send us your demo; a mix of 30 - 60 minutes on CDR + a letter (motivation) and a good photo to:

The dates are as following:
Closing date for demos : 1st of May
Wednesday 17th of May: Techno quarter final no.1
Wednesday 7th of June: Techno quarter final no.2
Saturday 10th of June: Techno semi-final

All pre-selections are held in Studio 80 (free of charge!) on the Rembrandtplein (Rembrandtsquare) in Amsterdam. During the quarterfinals 8 contestants will participate and 4 of them will go to the semi-final. In the semi-final the 4 winners of each quarter final will perform again. In this semi-final there are two winners and one will receive a wildcard. The 8 winners and the 4 persons that got a wildcard will perform at the talent area on Defqon.1 and Q-Base. (That's 3 contestants for each style)

During the grand final (date to be announced), the public and jury will vote for the eventual 4 winners (1 winner in each style.) These winners will be given the chance to perform at large dance-events and they each receive a one year artist contract with Q-bookings. MC's and producers can also send in their demos.
